Join Our Team as a Ward Sister – Elective Admissions and Discharge Department
Are you an experienced and motivated nursing leader looking for your next challenge? We are seeking an enthusiastic Ward Sister to lead our Elective Admissions and Discharge Department, ensuring patients receive a seamless, safe, and positive experience throughout their surgical journey.
In this rewarding role, you will provide visible clinical and operational leadership, overseeing the day-to-day management of the department while supporting patients through admission and discharge processes. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow, maintain high standards of care, and ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
As Ward Sister, you will lead by example, support and develop staff, drive quality improvement initiatives, and promote a culture of excellence, safety, and compassion. You will play a key role in enhancing patient experience, optimising discharge planning, and ensuring elective pathways run smoothly and efficiently.
We are looking for a dedicated nursing professional with strong leadership skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient-centred care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Ward / Department Manager in ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided within the ward. They will be easily identifiable to patients, relatives and all staff, providing strong, visible leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to facilitate the support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers.
The post holder will be able to role model compassion in care and ensure that a caring culture is nurtured and valued highly within the team.
Learning from the patient experience to constantly drive-up standards is paramount. The post holder will support the ward / Department manager in ensuring the highest standard of care is delivered and will constantly promote patient safety, effective care and a positive patient experience at each stage of the patient’s journey.
