Duties will include: Updating electronic systems with accurate data to support management information and meet recording standards; Undertake general admin support including scanning, filing and typing; Answer the telephone, dealing with enquiries and distribute messages for staff or providing information to callers as appropriate; Greeting patients and visitors ensuring a good customer service experience for all; Ordering supplies within the unit and arranging for specialist supplies and equipment in the community; Arranging outpatient appointments and assisting with organising specialist clinics; Liaising with various members of the multidisciplinary team including colleagues from neonates, maternity and allied health care professionals; Reporting faults with estates and IT facilities within the Transitional Care and Neonatal Outreach teams.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly organised, dynamic and adaptable ward clerk to join our Transitional Care and Neonatal Outreach Teams. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the low dependency and community areas of the Leeds Neonatal Service based at St James's Hospital. In this role, you will provide efficient administrative support; maintaining accurate records and data as well as providing a professional reception and telephone service. You will be working alongside midwives, specialist nurses, medical staff and the varied members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure our babies are cared for in the safest and most efficient way possible. We are looking for someone who can work well between the two areas, adapting your work to meet the needs of each area of the service. This is a full time position with 22.5 hours on Transitional Care and 15 hours in Neonatal Outreach each week.
