We are looking for a Ward Clerk to join Birch Ward.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a friendly manner as you will be communicating with a wide variety of people. You will be hard working, highly motivated and have the ability to work on your own initiative.

Main duties of the job
- Effective communication with colleagues, carers, visitors to the ward in a professional manner, responding to a diverse range of enquires.
- Ensuring enquiries are managed effectively with the appropriate support to enable an effective outcome.
- Ensuring effective communication with the nursing team and multi-disciplinary team (MDT), to allow for effective MDT working and prompt decision making
- Initially responding to concerns where necessary and escalating these to the appropriate member of staff where required
- Ensuring there are processes in place to remind staff to carry out actions/tasks that are time specific. (For example, contacting internal/external teams or checking medication has been requested and arrived in preparation for discharge)

Essential
- • Good clerical experience
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- • Experience of contact with members of the public
- • Recognised computer/IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- • Experience of team working to achieve targets
Desirable
- • Previous ward clerk experience
- • Experience of team work
- • Experience of working with EPR
- • Understanding medical Terminology
- • Experience of working in the NHS
Qualifications
Essential
- • Good standard of general education with strengths in English and Maths at GCSE Grade C or above
- • NVQ Level 3 in relevant subject equivalent
Desirable
- • Evidence of on-going development as appropriate
