We have a great opportunity to work as a Ward Administrator at St Richards Hospital, across our Acute Assessment Unit and our Same Day Emergency Care unit.

There are both part time positions available & full time posts where the candidate providing a focused administration service within the Clinical Administration for our patients across AAU & SDEC. Successful candidates should be able to work until 10 pm on some shifts and be flexible with days they can work.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a flexible, dynamic, and motivated ward administrator for our fast paced and friendly Inpatient Team to help ensure adequate coverage of duties across a defined group of departments.

You will be working to ensure the efficient and timely admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, dealing with patients’ medical notes and being responsible for the accurate and timely input of information into our PAS system for the purposes of patient care and data quality.

Appointment to this role will commence at the lowest salary point unless confirmed otherwise by HR Employment Services (Recruitment, Administration & Terms and Conditions)

You will need to be able to work as part of a team, but also be able to work unsupervised, using your own initiative and reporting skills. You will have excellent organisational and time keeping skills, which are essential for this position.

You will be required to work in close contact with patients, relatives and a multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors, physiotherapists or pharmacists amongst other professionals. You will be one of the first faces our patients and relatives will see when they first walk into our hospital, and you will have to deal with queries face-to-face, on the phone and via email. For this reason the post holder will have excellent communication and spelling skills alongside the ability to multi task and remain calm under pressure.
