Job overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who would like to join our Vascular imaging Unit (VIU) Stores team in the York Hospital. Applicants must have a can-do attitude and have excellent manual handling skills.

The post holder will work as an integral member of the VIU team. They will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of all VIU and theatre 10 stock and support the management of consumable stock in the main radiology department.

Main duties of the job

The main elements of the role are ensuring that stock levels are appropriate, rotated, store areas are kept tidy and common use items are centralised.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with the VIU staff and Management, Specialist consultants, procurement team, associated staff throughout the Trust and supply teams external to the Trust.

The post holder will co-ordinate the ordering of stock for the VIU team.

Essential

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and a wide range of people within and beyond the Trust.
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Ability to present data relating to stock control
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders

Experience

Essential

  • Excellent IT skills
  • Demonstrable interest in the collection of data and maintenance of records
  • Willingness to undertake further training as required
  • Experience in using the internet in the workplace

Desirable

  • Understanding of catheter laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of NHS ordering systems
  • Experience of stock management

Qualifications

Essential

  • Computer literate
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in stock control, procurement and/or customer services.
