An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time receptionist to work within the Urgent Treatment Centre at Weymouth Community Hospital. This post is an 18 hour permanent position and follows a 4 week rolling shift pattern, working between the hours of 0800 and 2000, 365 days a year.

Monday 14:00-20:00, Wednesday 14:00-20:00, Saturday 14:00-20:00
Week 2:
Sunday 14:00-20:00, Monday 14:00-20:00, Friday 14:00-20:00
Week 3:
Sunday 14:00-20:00, Thursday 14:00-20:00, Friday 14:00-20:00
Week 4:
Monday 14:00-20:00, Wednesday 14:00-20:00, Thursday 14:00-20:00
As the first point of contact for patients coming into the department, the successful candidate will be enthusiastic and motivated, have a flexible approach to working and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.
Main duties of the job
You must have excellent organisational skills and be comfortable working in a busy environment, handling enquiries from patients, relatives, and clinical colleagues face-to-face, by email, and over the phone.
You will be responsible for booking patients on arrival and updating health records using electronic systems. Duties include filing patient data, arranging appointments, processing referrals for patient pathways, emailing, and supporting discharge letter production and distribution.
The team also maintains local standard operating procedures, manages purchasing, collects data, and carries out general office tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver efficient administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the department, while upholding strict confidentiality at all times.
Professionally liaise with patients, external organisations, services, and internal departments within the Trust.
Collaborate effectively as a team member, demonstrating strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Maintain clear and professional communication with all contacts.
Present a professional front-of-house appearance, adhering to the specified dress code: black/navy/white top paired with black/navy trousers or skirt.
