Post: Charge Nurse, Band 7 | Urgent Treatment Centre | Permanent | Full Time / Part Time Considered

Main duties of the job

As Charge Nurse you will:

  • Provide visible, accessible and authoritative leadership for the nursing team in the UTC, acting as a role model for excellent nursing practice.
  • Hold line management responsibility for nursing staff, including recruitment, performance management, appraisal and professional development.
  • Lead on the delivery of safe, high quality, patient-centred care in line with evidence-based practice and Trust standards.
  • Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operational running of the UTC nursing team, including staffing, rotas and skill mix.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including medical staff, Emergency Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives, audits and quality projects to continuously enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory standards, including those of the NMC.
