This is an excellent opportunity to work in the Division of Clinical Support Services, NHS Grampian Laboratories Team. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Unit Operational Manager to drive forward our diagnostic laboratory services. This is a key managerial role, requiring a professional with significant expertise and in-depth knowledge in Biomedical Science (BMS), registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The role based in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary will provide comprehensive leadership and oversight of operational management of hospital laboratory services including: Dr Gray’s Hospital, Haematology, Clinical Biochemistry, Genetics, Medical Microbiology, Immunology, Pathology, Mortuary and Forensic services.

The post holder will ensure the delivery of high-quality laboratory services that meet all regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards across all departments, maintaining quality assurance and risk management, ensuring all laboratory activities comply with the highest standards of clinical governance.

In leading and managing a multidisciplinary team of laboratory professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous professional development. The post holder will oversee the continued scoping, planning, development, and integration of forensic pathology services in the broader laboratory framework.

This is a senior healthcare professional managerial opportunity and there is an expectation that the post holder will fully participate in the leadership and delivery of high-quality patient care and hospital Duty Manager on call. The closing date is Friday 24th July
