You will be joining TSSU at a pivotal moment at the start of our transformation program & will support the team through key projects including autoclave replacement, BSI re-certification audit & a rather large mandate from the Theatre Action Group.

As a TSSU Technician you will be responsible for ensuring that our service users’ needs are exceeded through the timely delivery of sterile surgical instrumentation & other reusable medical devices, some of which are required at short notice.

The work is varied, interesting, rewarding yet challenging & in return you will be a highly motivated & resilient team-player.

Your role will be pivotal, alongside your team, in supporting the work of our world-renowned orthopaedic surgeons in a hospital, which is a centre for excellence & an internationally recognised centre for the treatment of orthopaedic conditions.

Main duties of the job

Maintain high standards of work in all areas of TSSU production & work effectively within the Team to ensure timely delivery of a high quality & defect free product; (examples of tasks include collection, cleaning, inspecting, maintenance, disinfection, assembling, packing, sealing, labelling, sterilising & dispatching of surgical instruments, trays & equipment under supervision).

Responsible for the safe operation of all decontamination equipment, reporting faults quickly to maintain uptime & adherence to all departmental standard operating policies.

Take personal responsibility to ensure competency, knowledge & practical skills are maintained & improved through participation in all continuous improvement initiatives, audit, training & development activities.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Our efficient & highly productive Team is tight knit, friendly & works well together.

This secondment would suit someone with sufficient instrument knowledge to hit the ground running with minimal training (although training, mentoring & support will of course be provided on an on-going basis).

You will need to be a highly motivated & resilient team player with willingness to learn & develop expertise in all areas of sterile services.

If you have an ‘eye for detail’ & are happy working in a highly controlled environment, following standard operating procedures & meeting production targets, then you may be the person we are looking for.
