Job summary
The Eating Disorders Service provides high quality out-patient care for people with eating difficulties, primarily anorexia and bulimia nervosa.
We are looking for a skilled team secretary with a friendly personality to join the Eating Disorders Service based at April House in Bitterne.
You will need to be self-motivated, enthusiastic and have excellent organisational and secretarial skills, be able to prioritise your workload and be experienced in using Microsoft 365. NHS experience desirable. A good telephone manner is essential together with the ability to be able to work effectively within a small busy team.
To provide comprehensive Administration, Secretarial and Reception support to the service.
The post holder will be responsible for the organisation of their own workload and delegated decisions/actions, as deemed appropriate by the Administration Manager.
The needs of the service user will be the utmost priority. The principle of high-quality customer care is at the heart of this role.
They will need to ensure a friendly and professional ethos within the team/department for patients.

Experience
Essential
- *Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role, ideally within a busy office or customer service environment.
- *Excellent attention to detail and experience in audio typing.
- *Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) to include the production of appropriate templates and reports.
- *Experience of updating and maintaining electronic records.
- *Demonstrated ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
- *Minute taking experience, including the coordination of meetings and action trackers.
- *Experience handling confidential or sensitive information in a professional manner.
Desirable
- *Familiarity with NHS processes and patient pathways.
Qualifications
Essential
- *GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- *NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent.
- *Basic IT qualification or demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- *Evidence of continued professional development relevant to an administrative role.
Desirable
- *NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
- *Training in NHS systems or medical terminology.
