Job overview

We have a Team Manager role available within the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) to support an expanding workforce. The position will be focused to support across the service and expand our current management capacity.

The role includes line management and clinical oversight of staff . The post holder will work in close collaboration with the other Team Managers (West, Restormel, Carrick  & East) and our Service Lead (Cornwall) to ensure that the MHST is delivered in line with its established objectives but also embraces the opportunities available to  innovate and develop practice in early intervention. This role will focus on enhancing our management capacity in the West and will act as Manager of one of our two teams in that area as well as supporting more service wide leadership.   Ideally the post holder will be based in the west of the county.

Main duties of the job

The Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England. Successful candidates will be appointed on a permanent basis . You must either have a 'core' profession' for instance a Registered Nurse, Dip SW or equivalent (CSS, CQSW, degree in SW), or Allied Health Professional OR a qualified Psychological Professional - You will have extensive experience of delivery and supervision of LICBT in school settings. This post is to support an expansion to the coverage provided by the MHST service. You will have experience of managing or supervising staff. You will have extensive knowledge of child development, understanding of early trauma, identification and assessment of mental health disorders in children and working in multi-disciplinary mental health settings. Whilst a significant portion of your time will comprise of managerial support, over time, you will hold an active caseload of children with mild moderate emotional and mental health difficulties and will deliver 1:1 or group interventions.
