Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a  Team Leader to work at the forefront of innovation in Children’s and Young Peoples Mental Health and to play an instrumental role in Hertfordshire.

The team is a CYPMHS Tier 4  home treatment team (HTT)  which offers an alternative to an in-patient admission. The service works with 13-18 year olds and is a multidisciplinary team who provide intensive support within the young persons home.

The Team Leader will be responsible for the clinical and operational management of the team and provide leadership to the clinical team, in partnership with the CAMHS senior management, operational manager, consultant psychiatrists and lead clinicians on service planning, developments and evaluation.

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse  with experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at band 6 or equivalent.

The successful candidate will also have the following skills and experience: • Excellent communication skills • A good knowledge of the Children Act and Mental Health Act • Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively with a management structure

Main duties of the job

  • To ensure effective assessment and provision of a high standard of care within the Home Treatment Team service
  • To act as a positive clinical lead and role model within the Home Treatment Team
  • To manage and develop the Home Treatment team who can meet the changing needs of the service user
  • To set and monitor care standards for the Home Treatment Team
  • To ensure the day to day running of the service area is maintained to a high standard.
  • The post holder will be required to work in collaboration with the operational manager to manage the service, to ensure to higher standards of practice and service delivery. The role will involve providing day to day management, leadership and supervision to the team.
  • The role will involve managing the team performance and meeting KPI targets, supporting team members to provide excellent treatment for our service users, working with the leadership team to ensure the service is continually under review and is reflecting and develop appropriately.
