The successful candidate will be supported to develop skills and competencies which will allow them to operate telephony software, deal with emergency calls (cardiac arrests, fires, intruders etc.) and to achieve a level of knowledge of all areas/Sites within NHS Tayside in order to connect callers to appropriate people/departments.

You will also be required to work with several software packages relevant to the post for which training will also be provided. An excellent telephone manner and communications skills are essential.

Switchboard Services is a 24/7/365 department and as such you will be required to work out of hours as part of the rota, with enhancements paid accordingly.

The post will be based at Switchboard Services, Ninewells Hospital.

Hours of work: 27.87 hours per week, averaged over a 4-week roster. The post includes out of hours shifts (including weekends).

You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
