CCU is a 13 bedded acute cardiac unit, emergency portal, tertiary centre for PPCI, nursing level 2 patient with acute cardiac needs such as life threatening arrythmias, heart failure and other acute complex cardiac conditions.
Main duties of the job
Registered Nurse on NMC register Diploma in Nursing Evidence of degree level study in health/nursing related studies
Ongoing personal / professional development
Good communication skills.
Evidence of on-going professional education in a specialist area
Mentorship qualification or equivelant Formal teaching to groups of staff
Able to use own initiative Ability to work as part of a team Effective communication skills Reliability Effective interpersonal skills Clinical reasoning Problem solving and independent decision making Proven leadership skill
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- The Post holder will be responsible for the assessment of the needs, development of programmes of care, and for the implementation and evaluation of these programmes for patients and their relatives. • To provide a high standard of clinical nursing within the department • To manage a group of patients • To take charge of the unit when rostered and assessed as competent to take on the roles and responsibilities of leadership and supervision • To act as a role model to students and Nursing Assistants, Assistant Practitioners/trainees and Nursing Associates/trainees. • To present a positive, professional image of the organisation and of the nursing team.
