An exciting opportunity has arisen within Urology Outpatients. We are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Band 5, Staff Nurse to join our Urology Outpatients Team. The Unit provides a friendly environment with a strong emphasis on team work to facilitate the provision of high quality patient care.

The Department is a busy environment with daily Urology Consultant and Nurse Led clinics. The post will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to excel in a wide range of duties due to the diverse nature of treatments within Urology.
We are looking for a highly motivated nurse who is passionate about delivering high standards of nursing care to ensure a positive patient experience. You need to have excellent communication skills and be prepared to work in a busy and sometimes challenging environment which will be in turn rewarding and exciting.

Main duties of the job
Co-ordinating and chaperoning clinics.
Supporting Continence clinics.
Assisting with Transperineal biopsies.
Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation.
Supporting patients undergoing mobile lithotripsy (ESWL).
BCG bladder instillations.
Catheterisation.
Assisting with videourodynamics.
Assisting with Botox.
Supporting newly developed clinics.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Co-ordinate clinics including appropriate team delegation.
Support all clinician led clinics to include chaperoning.
Provide treatments to patients such as Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation, Mobile lithotripsy, BCG bladder instillations and catheterisation. Assist with transperineal biopsies/video urodynamics/urodynamics/BOTOX.
Training will be provided.
Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team/agencies to ensure that patient needs are met
Involve patients, relatives/carers in the delivery of care, providing reassurance and support to assist their understanding and co-operation
Prepare the clinical area for safe practice by ensuring that cleanliness is maintained, materials and equipment are ready for use, including clearing away afterwards
Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations
Collect, collate, and report information, maintaining accurate patient records/documentation
