Main duties of the job

Join the team at The Dean in Gloucester and experience delivering great healthcare. As an experienced Nurse in the UK, become part of a multidisciplinary team to make a difference. Day-to-day tasks include providing compassionate nursing care, being responsible for care assessment, planning, and implementation, and offering mentorship. The Dean Neurological Centre provides specialist nursing and therapy services for people with complex neurological conditions. It emphasizes maximizing individuals' abilities, comfort, and quality of life through slow stream rehabilitation. The centre is equipped with high dependency equipment in bedrooms and has therapy facilities, gardens, a gym, and a minibus. What you will be doing

As a qualified Registered Nurse, you will ensure people with Neurological conditions receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promote good teamwork.

The wards are busy, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, and a good amount of routine and variety. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Providing high-quality, effective and compassionate nursing care to service users
  • Being responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
  • Providing mentorship and support to team members
  • Observing, recording and reporting all service user changes, and maintaining accurate records of care provided

Skills and knowledge you will have

  • A relevant nursing qualification
  • NMC registration
  • Strong team-working skills
  • A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach
  • A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
  • A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice

Location: The Dean Neurological Centre, Tewkesbury Road, Longford, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, GL2 9EE

The Dean Neurological Centre has 60 beds in Gloucester (GL2 9EE), which is on the outskirts of the town within easy commute from Gloucester, Cheltenham with good transport links.

The Centre delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability.

It specialises in slow stream rehabilitation where the emphasis is placed on maximising each individual's abilities, comfort and quality of life.

Bedrooms are fitted with high dependency equipment, including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment., with all rooms adapted to individual requirements. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities and other facilities such as gardens, gym and minibus.
