The vascular service in Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust is delivered in conjunction with Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust as part of the Thames Valley Vascular Network.
The role is supported by highly experience vascular staff including a Band 8 Surgical Care Practitioner and a part time Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist and a full time Band 6 Specialist Vascular Nurse .
We would welcome enthusiastic and committed registered nurses who strive to develop and maintain clinical excellence to our team.
Successful applicants will be provided with a 6-month role specific development plan in-order to develop your vascular knowledge and skills.
There will be a degree of flexibility within the working week. The fixed clinical commitments are currently delivered Monday to Friday, with no weekends or late shifts.
The role involves delivering the vascular service across all Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust sites, currently vascular clinics are run at Stoke Mandeville , Wycombe and Amersham Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
To provide both in patient and outpatient areas with consistent high quality care and support for vascular patients across all Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust sites.
To be confident working with the team and independently in the direct delivery of high quality care , making clinical treatment decisions based on advanced assessment.
Provide clinical and professional advice to the multi disciplinary team. Developing and implementing individual patient care / treatment plans.
Contribute to the development and improvement of vascular services.
Participate in the development of new nursing initiatives.
Support vascular nurse led surveillance clinics.
Work with current vascular nursing team to establish nurse led ulcer clinics.
Attend bi weekly vascular MDT meeting

EXPERIENCE
Essential
- An understanding of vascular conditions, including their pathophysiology, management, and potential complications
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Experience working with vascular patients, ideally at Band 5 or 6 level desirable but not essential as training will be given.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

- Able to travel to other sites and off site as necessary
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information effectively to patients and colleagues.
- Ability to critically appraise research and apply evidence- based practices in their work.
- Awareness of relevant professional issues and policies within the NHS
- Knowledge of clinical governance issues, such as risk management and patient safety
- Willingness to adapt to changing situations and work autonomously when required
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is essential.
- Intermediate IT skills, including word processing and spreadsheet software
