This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the hospital and community palliative care team influencing the holistic care of patients and carers with palliative end of life and specialist palliative care needs across North West Anglia NHS Trust. The post will primarily be based Peterborough City hospital and working in the community , but the successful candidate may be required to undertake a hospital rotation as service need requires.
For a very experienced senior Band 5 Nurse with experience of delivering specialist palliative care, this role could be offered as a development post for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have a good knowledge of symptom control for patients with end of life malignant or non-malignant care needs, and experience of the holistic assessment and care of patients with palliative and end of life care needs. The job will involve the education and training of other health professionals regarding end of life and specialist palliative care across North West Anglia NHS Trust and the local community. The successful applicant will need to be proactively involved in audit regarding end of life and specialist palliative care.
In supporting a seven day specialist palliative care service across the North Cambridgeshire and the local community, the successful candidates will need to work weekends and Bank Holidays pro rata. The successful candidate will need the ability to drive.
The role offers an opportunity to develop and embed existing palliative care knowledge and experience across the hospital and community provision in the region.
