An exciting opportunity has arisen within the newly established SHINE service—a Specialist Hub for Integrated Neurodevelopmental Evaluation providing comprehensive autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people aged 2 to 18 years, with a dedicated focus on serving the Milton Keynes community alongside CNWL Boroughs.

Based locally in Milton Keynes, we are seeking enthusiastic Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) or equivalent clinicians from fields such as Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Speech and Language Therapy. The successful candidate will work within a supportive multi-disciplinary team comprising paediatricians, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and clinical psychologists to deliver high-quality diagnostic assessments, formulations, and care packages tailored to local children and families.

Main duties of the job

• Deliver specialist diagnostic assessments for children and young people with suspected neurodevelopmental conditions (Autism and ADHD) across Milton Keynes. Take detailed developmental case histories from parents and carers, administer tools such as the ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), and contribute to multidisciplinary diagnostic decisions and feedback sessions. Build close working relationships with local educational staff, class teachers, SENDCOs, learning support assistants, educational/clinical psychologists, inclusive intervention teams, specialist teaching services, special needs officers, GPs, and paediatricians within Milton Keynes. Maintain robust clinical governance, keeping comprehensive records on SystmOne and prioritising the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people under local Milton Keynes and London safeguarding procedures and frameworks. Supervise team members, therapy assistants, or students, and actively contribute to service development, audits, and Quality Improvement (QI) projects
