The role of the SPA Clinical Triage Nurse is to receive referrals from a diverse range of people & services, triage the referrals & ensure that they reach the right service in the shortest time. SPA Triage monitor the Health Call system which is utilised by heart failure patients, ensuring that out of range observations are escalated & acted upon. Palcall is a further element of the SPA Triage role; this is a telephone support & signposting service for people deemed to be within their last 12 months of life.
This is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service.

Clinical Triage is currently undergoing a horizontal integration of the North Tees & South Tees triage staff, aimed at providing equitable access to the wider locality.

The role of the SPA Clinical Triage Nurse is to receive referrals from a diverse range of people & services, triage the referrals & ensure that they reach the right service in the shortest time. SPA Triage monitor the Health Call system which is utilised by heart failure patients, ensuring that out of range observations are escalated & acted upon. Palcall is a further element of the SPA Triage role; this is a telephone support & signposting service for people deemed to be within their last 12 months of life. Post holders need to be IT literate, able to multi-task & require advanced communication skills.
Clinical Triage is currently undergoing a horizontal integration of the North Tees & South Tees triage staff, aimed at providing equitable access to the wider locality. There is the expectation that team members will become conversant with health care records for both North & South Tees localities.
This service is a rapidly evolving one, responding to need of people across a large geographical region & with dynamic service delivery changes.
