We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7 Nurse to work as part of the Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Community Learning Disability Team to achieve positive and effective health outcomes for people who have learning disabilities and mental health needs.

The applicant should be a 1st level Registered Learning Disability Nurse ideally with experience of working in both an inpatient and community setting.

The Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist Learning Disabilities will have developed a specialist knowledge and competency base in relation to the factors which impact on the mental health of those with learning disabilities and the interventions and strategies which promote mental health for this client group. This will be underpinned by experience across the field of learning disabilities.

Participation in post-registration education, supervision and competencies is a requirement of the post.

The post holder will work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist regarding the clinical and therapeutic work of those on the current caseload.

Applicants should have good knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to this client group and evidence advanced communication skills. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team would be advantageous. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate professional leadership, and lead innovation through change, including service development.

The post holder should hold a current full driving license and have access to a car for work purposes.

An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8000 is available to successful candidates
