Yuno Sexual Health provides specialist integrated sexual health services in the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) area.

We are recruiting  a Band 3 Sexual Health Administrator for 23.5 hours per week as follows:

Monday: 08:45-17:00

Wednesday: 09:45-18:15 (Weekly Portishead clinic )

Thursday: 10:45-19:00

The post holder will be joining a small  team at our clinic based in Weston General Hospital and also our at community clinic based in Portishead (temporarily being held at Weston General Hospital).   If you are interested in working for us and can demonstrate the relevant skills and knowledge, we would love to hear from you.

The role provides a robust, flexible and wraparound, patient focused and responsive administrative service to support the clinical function. This includes, but is not limited to, welcoming patients, using multiple clinical systems, preparing and processing patient notes, liaising with local hospitals and clinics and answering and triaging patient and other professional queries. The Administrator role will contribute to the provision of a high-quality service for patients.

The work involves close liaison with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure patient attendance to clinic, booking patient appointments in line with the Patient Access Policy, and working in a busy and high pressured environment. The role is responsible for setting high standards of patient care by enacting the Trust’s values at all times.

Main duties of the job

  • Liaise with other departments developing positive and co-operative working relationships
  • Be able to respond to upset, potentially angry members of the public in a calm and professional manner, understanding limitations of role and how to access support
  • Provide a polite, courteous and responsive customer service, understanding the link between own professionalism and the possible impact on the department’s image.
  • Answer the telephone, make appointments, deal with queries relevant to the service and/or take accurate messages, record details and pass on to the appropriate team/individual in a timely manner.
  • Provide a calm and friendly welcome to visitors, patients, staff and service users, using a caring and professional approach.
  • Use a computerised system to book appointments and complete associated processes.
  • Process and update all relevant documentation where appropriate, using computerised systems, providing records and information as requested.
  • Photocopying, filing, scanning, record keeping, plus other general office duties as and when required.
  • Manage and process patient referrals and medical correspondence effectively and timely.
  • Manage own time effectively, prioritising own workload to meet competing demands.
  • Deal with various enquiries via phone, face to face, fax, email or mail from GPs, consultants, specialist nurses, relatives, patients, medical staff and external organisations.
