Job overview

The Service Manager is a key role within the Emergency Care Collaborative and responsible for the operational portfolio for all specialties and is accountable to the General Manager. This involves the delivery of operational performance targets, Finance, HR and Quality standards within the designated portfolio.

The Service Manager will work in partnership with the clinical leads and teams to ensure that activity and quality targets are achieved and will also be responsible for developing action plans to support service improvements.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the senior Collaborative team, and will assist the General Manager in developing services and ensuring long term sustainability. They will also support the General Manager in the specific support in relation to their portfolio of services which they are operationally responsible.

The individual will have responsibility for staff and budgetary management within a their portfolio and for ensuring that performance targets and strategic objectives are met. This will include supporting theatre scheduling to meet the trust capacity and demand requirement to achieve national standards.
