We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced secretary to provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Urology Clinical Team within the Surgical Directorate. It is essential that applicants possess a high level of sound typing skills, hold a Medical Secretarial Qualification and qualify for at least RSA Stage 3 (or equivalent).
The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and be able to work as part of a team.
The post holder will be able to work within time constraints and be able to meet a deadline while being able to demonstrate good organisational skills and the ability to maintain good and reliable records.
The post-holder will need to have previous Medical Secretary Experience, possess excellent time management skills, be well organised and have the ability to prioritise workload demands to meet strict deadlines, whilst producing work to the highest standards.
The post holder will ensure the delivery of a comprehensive high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the consultant, doctor and junior medical team and specialist nursing teams, other health professionals.
The post holder will be responsible for the guidance, supervision and direction of the admin team dealing with appropriate day to day issues to oversee the smooth running of the department and providing support to the line manager.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder must also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using discretion, judgement and initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, together with a keen eye for detail, with the ability to process and generate urgent and routine correspondence.
The Candidates must be able to maintain patient confidentiality, and ensure a high standard of customer care at all times. It is essential that the successful candidate has a flexible approach to work, to meet the demands of the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
