We currently have vacancies for Band 3 Senior Health Care Support Workers to join our Children’s Emergency Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional care to children and young people.

Please note that all our current positions involve a full rota of day, twilight, night and weekend shifts.

As a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting children and young people with their healthcare needs. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, delivering high-quality care in our regional Children’s Emergency Department and Major Trauma Centre.

Main duties of the job

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the clinical team with observations and treatments.
• Providing emotional and practical support to children, young people and their families.
• Helping maintain a safe, clean and supportive environment.
• Working closely with other healthcare professionals in a team
• Acting as a scribe in emergency situations.
• Assisting with personal care and ensuring the well-being of patients.

Key Requirements to Apply: We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn, have excellent communication skills, and a positive, can-do attitude.

To be shortlisted for this role, you must clearly demonstrate on your application the following:

• Maths qualification at GCSE A*-C / 4-9 or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent.
• English qualification at GCSE A*-C / 4-9 or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent.
• Level 3 qualification (or higher) in any subject.
• Acute caring experience in an acute healthcare or social care setting.
• Experience or a passion for working with children and young people.

You will need to provide evidence of your educational qualification before your invitation to interview is confirmed.
