Job summary

The Senior FDP Engineer is an important role as the Trust leads up to and delivers the Electronic Patient Record implementation.

The Trust is using the FDP (Federated Data Platform) to drive important initiatives such as RTT (Referral To Treatment) and Discharge Management.

The Trust is also using FDP to drive national returns such as Inpatient CDS, Outpatient CDS and ECDS.

These projects have led to Mid Yorks being a leader in FDP implementation in England and as such the canonical data model is well populated.

This post is part of a team who are charged with the continued exploitation of FDP technologies and the assurance of FDP operations during EPR implementation.

The Senior FDP Engineer should:

  • Be experienced in foundry engineering, particularly pipeline builder.
  • Be comfortable with the canonical data model and have experience populating it.
  • Have solid data warehousing methodology understanding & experience.
  • Have have experience working as part of an engineering/development team and be comfortable with devops principles.

Main duties of the job

The Senior FDP Engineer's main duties will be to:

  • Build & Maintain Pre-EPR Data Flows Into FDP To Satisfy Requirements For Central Returns, National & Local Products.
  • Design, Remap, And Rebuild EPR Data Flows Into FDP To Satisfy Requirements For Central Returns, National & Local Products.
  • Adhere & Contribute To FDP Development Best Practice, Including Testing, Peer Review etc.
  • Maintain FDP Product Stability Throughout EPR Implementation.
  • Help The Trust Exploit FDP Tools For Strategic Advantage.
  • Support The Interconnectivity Between FDP & The Wider Data Estate.
  • Maintain FDP Knowledge, Awareness & Skills.
  • Help Upskill Others in FDP Development.
