Job summary

Join NHS Blood and Transplant as a Senior Data Analyst and play a key role in turning workforce data into meaningful insights that shape decision-making and improve services. Youll lead the analysis, development and delivery of high-quality people data, supporting strategic priorities across the organisation. Working closely with senior leaders, you will transform complex datasets into clear, actionable intelligence, helping to drive evidence-based decisions. Youll need a collaborative approach and a passion for continuous improvement and ensuring best practice to succeed. Main duties of the job

  • Deliver high-quality workforce data analysis, reports and insights to support organisational decision-making
  • Extract, integrate and analyse data from multiple systems using tools such as SQL, Power BI and Excel Design and develop dashboards, visualisations and data products to support projects and programmes
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing advice and solutions on complex data and analytical challenges
  • Translate complex data into clear, accessible insights for a range of audiences, including senior leaders
  • Plan and prioritise analytical work to meet deadlines and respond to changing business needs
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, information governance and organisational policies
  • Support workforce strategies and improvement programmes through evidence-based analysis
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver impactful insights

  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with large, complex datasets and identifying key trends
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences, including senior stakeholders
  • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) and data extraction tools such as SQL
  • Proven experience leading, coaching or managing a team in a data or analytical environment
  • Experience producing clear, actionable insights and reports to support business decisions

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to masters level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience working at a similar level
  • Evidence of advanced data analysis and technical skills (e.g. SQL, Excel, BI tools)
  • Demonstrable commitment to continued professional development
  • Relevant certifications in data, reporting or database tools (e.g. SQL, Microsoft technologies)
