Job summary

Start your healthcare career here. We are seeking an enthusiastic, ambitious and motivated individual to join our team as a pharmacy assistant. If you do not hold an NVQ/BTEC level 2 in Pharmacy Services, or equivalent this would be an excellent opportunity to undertake a recognised pharmacy qualification, whilst being paid a Band 2 salary (Band 3 upon completion). Applicants who do not hold a pharmacy level 2 qualification must have GCSE grade C/4 or above equivalent in English language, Maths and Science. This position is 37 and a half hours a week and participation will be required in the late night, weekend and bank holiday rota. Main duties of the job

  • Accurately dispense medications and other pharmaceutical products in accordance with prescriptions and hospital protocols both electronically and on paper systems in both the dispensary and at ward level.
  • Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and managing pharmaceutical inventory.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff, including addressing queries and providing medication-related information, this may be face to face or over the telephone.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and hospital guidelines in all dispensing activities.
  • Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications and manage patient information with confidentiality.
  • Support the pharmacy team with additional administrative tasks and operational duties as needed.
