Job overview

We are seeking Assistant Technical Officers (ATOs) to join our Bank Staff Team within the Health Board. This flexible role offers the opportunity to work across various pharmacy service areas, supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe and cost-effective Medicines Management.

As a Bank ATO, you will:

  • Supply of stock to wards and departments
  • Dispense medicines for both in-patients and outpatient services
  • Support the co-ordination of patient discharges
  • Assist the pharmacy Medicines Management team at ward level

Our Pharmacy team is forward thinking and continually strives to improve the delivery of patient focused pharmaceutical care and optimise the use of medicines within the Health Board.

Pharmacy operates a 7-day service; therefore, shifts will include weekend working.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include:

  • Support Pharmacy Services across dispensary, ward-based areas, ensuring safe and efficient handling of medicines.
  • Dispensing and Supply of medicines in accordance with legal, professional, and organisational standards.
  • Maintain Accurate Records and documentation in line with departmental procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure Compliance with Health Board policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
