Job summary
This is an exciting 6-month secondment opportunity to gain experience across multiple specialist services within the Nursing Directorate. The role provides a unique development opportunity to work across Nurse Recruitment, the ALERT Team, Resuscitation Services, supporting key operational and training functions.
The postholder will work in different settings, developing a broad understanding of workforce coordination, service delivery and education. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to broaden their administrative skills, gain exposure to multiple teams, and contribute to improving patient care through effective organisational support.
This role spans three core service areas:
*Nurse Recruitment & Temporary Staffing -- supporting recruitment activity, coordinating events, working with universities and external partners, and assisting with onboarding processes for new staff
*ALERT Team (Acute Response Team) -- managing staffing rosters, coordinating training compliance, supporting senior nursing staff with diary management, and ensuring safe service provision
*Resuscitation Services -- organising and supporting life support training courses, liaising with internal and external faculty, managing bookings, and maintaining training records and course logistics
The role requires close collaboration with clinical teams, senior nurses, external organisations, and education providers, with a strong emphasis on coordination, communication, and service support across all three areas.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The postholder will undertake a varied and dynamic workload, including:
*Coordinating recruitment activity, including organising recruitment events, liaising with universities and external stakeholders, and supporting onboarding for new staff
*Managing staffing and rostering for the ALERT service, ensuring appropriate cover, maintaining records such as annual leave and training compliance, and producing workforce reports
*Supporting the delivery of resuscitation training, including planning and coordinating life support courses, managing bookings, preparing materials, and assisting on training days
*Maintaining accurate records and databases, including training data, recruitment information, and financial/course records
*Providing comprehensive administrative support, including diary management for senior staff, inbox management, organising meetings, and taking minutes
*Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure smooth coordination of services and events
*Supporting financial processes, such as handling course payments, raising requisitions, and maintaining financial records
*Contributing to service improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and support delivery across all areas
This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential
- A broad range of work procedures and practices, predominantly nonroutine, requiring theoretical knowledge.
- Good keyboard skills including experience of using a range of Microsoft Office Applications Inc. Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Excellent administrative skills for example, managing general queries, diary management, room bookings, arranging meetings, taking notes and writing up action plans, document management, preparing PowerPoint slides.
- Experience of supporting projects
- Able to store and manage data to produce reports and information useful for analysis and tracking progress to ensure effectiveness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be able to problem solve, use own initiative in planning and prioritise own workload.
Qualifications
Essential
- Demonstrable knowledge of administrative procedures, including specialised IT systems, project management, and training practices, gained through formal training or experience equivalent to a level 4 diploma.
- GCSE passes in English & Maths
