JOB SUMMARY
The Post Holder will be responsible for supporting the Trust’s delivery of the Ten Year Tobacco Control Strategy for NI. This post will primarily focus on delivering a Stop Smoking Service across hospital settings in the South Eastern H&SC Trust Area. The Post Holder will contribute to improve health & Wellbeing and reduce health inequalities for our patients/clients and those working in the South Eastern H&SC Trust.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
*To contribute to building the capacity and capability of those delivering stop smoking services in acute, community and prison settings.
*To provide stop smoking services in acute setting
* To support and or provide a stop smoking service to all prison sites
*To work in partnership with vol/comm partner stop smoking services.
* To support the implementation of South Eastern Trust Smoke Free Sites.
* To explore and implement where feasible new innovative initiatives and / or enhance current initiatives to increase the amount of people who stop smoking.
To provide effective monitoring and evaluation using the ELITE regional system to monitor the progress of the Stop Smoking Service in meeting the agreed targets and priorities.
To be trained in and use ENCOMPASS to deliver the service.
To prepare and maintain reports and other documentation that maybe required.
To coordinate a range of smoking prevention activities in acute and prison settings including no smoking day,
To deliver training such as Brief Intervention Training in acute and prison settings.
To contribute to reducing health enequalities across South Eastern H&SC Trust Area.
To work in partnership to development and implement care pathways for stop smoking services.
To participate in local and regional meetings as specified by Manager.
To establish Partnerships and contribute existing partnerships to provide a seamless stop smoking services across South Eastern H&SC Trust Area.
To offer a stop smoking service to patients, clients and staff and to prescribe Nicotine Replacement Therapy as per South Eastern H&SC Trust Guidelines.
To work in partnership to ensure that the stop smoking service is effectively
promoted to maximise uptake.

Helping to reduce paper waste by minimising printing/copying and reducing water usage, reporting faults and heating/cooling concerns promptly and minimising travel.
