Job overview

Supporting the Theatre Scheduling Lead for efficient delivery of the Theatre schedule, the post holder is required to effectively coordinate use of internal workforce and resources and support directorates in fully utilising theatre sessions.

The post holder will be responsible for developing and implementing robust information management systems which supports monitoring, data capture and performance review of the directorate.

Main duties of the job

The NCIC Theatre provision provides 24/7 service to adults and children who require both elective and emergency operative procedures. Theatre staff provides a twenty-four-hour service for adults and children for elective and emergency operative procedures.

Surgical and Secretarial teams list patients within their directorate who require both local and general anaesthesia for a wide variety of elective surgical procedures from specialisms such as General Surgery, Urology, Vascular, Orthopaedic, Gynaecology, Obstetric, Maternity service, Ophthalmology, ENT, Maxilla facial surgery.

The Theatre Administrational team work collaboratively in support of the theatre and anaesthesia provisions alongside clinical colleagues to deliver high quality patient care and a high level of operational performance.
