The role:

The Retail Department at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is seeking to appoint motivated and experienced Catering Assistants to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of catering duties within our on-site retail outlet, ensuring the delivery of a high standard of food service, food safety, and customer service.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

There are 4x part-time posts available with the following hours:

2x 4 hours per week

2x 15 hours per week

These are the shift patterns available:

1 – Sunday only 1 – Monday only 2 - Monday-Friday with hours to be worked between 7am & 7pm on a rota basis.

The roles are based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

the shifty pattern for the posts are 5 over 7 pattern and require weekend work. The location is the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Key responsibilities:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serving patients, staff and visitors.
  • Cash Handling
  • Customer Care
  • Barista Service
  • Organising hospitality for small and large functions
  • General Catering Duties
  • Completion and maintenance of HACCP documentation and adherence to all food safety procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with departmental Health and Safety regulations and policies.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced catering environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in Barista skill
