This is a 12 month locum post, that provides an opportunity for an enthusiastic physician to provide respiratory services at St George’s Hospital. The successful candidate will join a group of 12 other consultants affiliated to the respiratory department at St George’s.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a clinical service in respiratory medicine as part of a team of respiratory specialists.
  • To participate in clinical and other service activities with the objective of ensuring a high standard of patient care; including general respiratory, sleep and cancer clinics
  • To lead the delivery of the lung cancer screening programme review meetings at St George’s and work within the lung cancer team.
  • To participate in the delivery of the regional EBUS service.
  • To contribute to service developments
  • To take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. Depending on the skills of the candidate, this could involve managing the respiratory clinical placements and other medical student clinical experience as well as the teaching program for the respiratory doctors.
  • To contribute to the management of the service.
