Main duties of the job

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to a busy research team working on hundreds of studies at one of the country's largest research centres. You will be based in the Clinical Research Coordination Team, working alongside the research nurses and the study coordinators. Alongside your practical role, you will also be able to complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Course.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Responsibilities:

- Support the Clinical Research Delivery Team in the set-up and running of research studies, including maintaining site files, archiving, uploading recruitment details and participant data to internal systems - Implement standard operating procedures for the team and propose changes to operational practices to demonstrate improvements in services. - Provide operational support to colleagues, as directed by the Line Manager. - General administrative duties including filing, photocopying, diary management and distribution of deliveries.  - Ensure appropriate electronic systems are kept up to date, ensuring that information entered into the system is in line with the Trust’s data quality standards. - Ensure good customer service by providing a professional and effective telephone service, taking accurate messages and providing information and signposting as requested and appropriate. - Provide cross-cover for other staff across the hospital to ensure a consistent and effective service is always maintained.

Experience/Skills Needed:

- Good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy skills demonstrable to GCSE pass level 4 or above or equivalent standard. - Basic skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word - Ability to work under pressure. - Excellent verbal and telephone/communication skills. - Good, clear written communication skills - Good interpersonal skills - Good organisational skills - Attention to detail - Ability to work within a team and autonomously - Commitment to completing the L3 apprenticeship training
