We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and highly motivated Rehabilitation Assistant to join our evolving North Staffordshire Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS).

Our community and outpatient services play a crucial role in providing specialised patient-centred rehabilitation focusing on Early Supported Discharge and longer-term recovery. We are based at the Haywood Hospital, with our community service working across 7-day shift pattern within patient home environments around Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

Our focus is on maximising recovery, function and independence underpinned by a strong ethos of patient centred care, compassion and consistently high clinical standards.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to travel independently and efficiently over a large geographical area and have access to suitable transport.

Main duties of the job

The Rehabilitation Assistant will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will have specialist experience, knowledge and skills to work within the community or an outpatient setting.

As part of this role you will:

• Perform at a high level of competence within agreed protocols under the supervision of a registered professional.
• Take responsibility for their own workload within a broad framework overseen by registered staff to implement, deliver and evaluate specialist stroke rehabilitation programmes.
• Be responsible for delivering defined therapeutic input independently with access to registered staff for advice and direction as needed.
• Use technical and creative skills in the provision of therapeutic activities for individual patients and/or group sessions within the home environment or an outpatient setting.
