An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Paediatric Nurse to work on the Paediatric Assessment Unit at Queen's Hospital Burton and in the Children's Emergency Department t the Royal Derby Hospital.
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated registered children's nurses to work within Paediatric Urgent Care.
Bot PAU and CED provides emergency and urgent care to children in and around Derby and surrounding areas from birth to 18 years. It consists of a Children’s Emergency Department and Paediatric Observation Unit at Royal Derby Hospital, the Paediatric Assessment Unit and ED cover at Queen's Hospital Burton.

This post will involve cross site working.
The post will involve a variety of shifts over a 7 days week including bank holidays, rotating between night and day shifts.
Main duties of the job
Our paediatric departments provide urgent and emergency care for 0-18 years.
The role involves working as part of a nursing and medical team to provide urgent and emergency care to babies and children within the urgent care pathway. You will be responsible for triaging and prioritising babies and children’s medical needs as well as streaming them to alternative services and pathways. You will have opportunity to be involved within all aspects of care including, but not limited to:
- Triage assessment
- Resuscitation
- Minor injury management/treatments
- Observations
- Care of medical, surgical, injury and mental health patients
- Medicine administration
- Risk assessing
- Safeguarding
Applicants must hold RSCN or RN child branch qualification & should hold RSCN qualification and have paediatric experience.
We will support you through a wide range of in-house study days and training, we work very closely with our clinical educators to enhance learning.
