Spire Claremont Hospital have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Pre Assessment team on a full time, permanent basis.

Spire Claremont Hospital has provided first-class independent healthcare at the heart of the South Yorkshire community since 1953. Our hospital is situated among beautifully landscaped grounds in Crosspool, Sheffield and it is situated 3 miles (about 20 minutes) to the south west of Sheffield city centre.

We offer a range of services and facilities including four operating theatres, a dedicated Endoscopy Suite; and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner. Specialities include Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology, Gynaecology, Spinal surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive pre-operative assessments
  • Triaging and assessing patients to ensure suitability for surgery
  • Identifying and escalating potential clinical concerns
  • Supporting safe, personalised patient care throughout the surgical pathway
  • Providing clear information and reassurance to patients and families
  • Working collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams
  • Contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

You'll have:

We're looking for a nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and thrives in a collaborative environment.

  • Current NMC registration with no restrictions on practice
  • Previous experience within a Pre-Assessment setting
  • Acute healthcare experience
  • Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Good IT and electronic patient record skills
  • Phlebotomy, venepuncture and ECG competency
  • Pre-Operative Assessment Association qualification or training
