Job summary

The role is for a permanent part-time (27 hours per week) band 5 Registered Nurse role, which is across site, in the Urology Investigations units at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield, Pontefract and Dewsbury Hospitals.

The successful candidate will work along side a team of Urology consultants, specialist nurses, HCSW's and admin staff.

The Urology investigation unit is an outpatient area that works Monday to Friday.

The department sees patients with Urological conditions and for treatments, including cancer diagnosis, stone treatment, catheter care, cancer treatment, neuro-urological conditions and this is in a variety of clinics. We run large One stop clinics where patients are seen and treated with in one single appointment having multiple investigations and consultation, reducing the need for further hospital attendances.

Main duties of the job

  • Set up of clinics at the start of the day
  • Assisting with clinics and clinical procedures such as Flexible cystoscopies, prostate biopsies, urodynamic studies, stone clinics and Lithotripsy treatment.
  • Nurse led clinics including, catheterisation, trial without catheters, Supra pubic and urethral catheter changes
  • The successful candidate will be required to work across the 3 sites working with in clinics and also cover annual leave.
  • Clean down clinical areas Note prep for clinics Medication checks Equipment check and ordering
