Job summary

The role is to provide and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of care. You will deliver care without supervision and take responsibility as the prime care provider for a group of patients and at all times promote confidence in our commitment to provide excellent compassionate patient care. The role will involve taking charge of the ward or department as necessary in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse. You will participate in the in-service training, preceptorship and mentorship of junior staff, post basic learners and students as well as maintaining your personal development. The jobholder will work within an environment caring for adult patients requiring out-patient haemodialysis.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our Renal team as a Band 5 Registered Nurse at Pontefract satellite haemodialysis unit (based at Pontefract General Infirmary) - providing out-patient dialysis to 72 patients, 6 days/week. Pontefract is an Adult Haemodialysis Unit, providing maintenance haemodialysis for patients with chronic renal failure. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, forward- thinking nurse who is committed to providing high quality care. The post offers the opportunity to develop existing or new specialist nursing skills. We offer an individualized in-service induction package supported by our Renal Clinical Educators.
