Job summary

The Registered General Nurse Nights plays a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to residents during night shifts across Jewish Cares residential and nursing services. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the postholder will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual care, ensuring residents physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met throughout the night. The role includes clinical responsibilities such as medication administration, monitoring residents wellbeing, responding to changes in condition, maintaining accurate records, and supporting care staff on shift. The postholder will also ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organisational policies while promoting dignity, safety, and person-centred care at all times.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered General Nurse to join our night team, delivering high-quality clinical care to residents across our care homes. You will be responsible for leading night shifts, administering medication safely, monitoring resident wellbeing, responding to clinical changes, and supporting care staff to deliver excellent person-centred care. The role requires strong clinical judgement, effective communication skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of care in a night-time environment. You will work closely with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure residents receive safe, responsive, and dignified care throughout the night. A valid NMC registration as a Registered Nurse is essential.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to residents, supporting their physical, emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing. Working closely with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals, you will play a key role in ensuring outstanding standards of care and clinical practice.

You will:

About You

We are looking for compassionate and professional nurses who are passionate about delivering exceptional care.

You will have:

Current NMC registration as an RGN or RMN A Nursing degree (Bachelors or Masters) At least 1 years nursing experience in a care or clinical setting Experience leading or supporting care teams Experience administering medication and maintaining accurate records Strong communication and organisational skills A positive, flexible, and team-focused approach

Experience working with older people and individuals living with dementia is desirable.

Working Pattern

This role works an average of 40.25 hours per week on a rota basis:

Week 1: 4 shifts Week 2: 3 shifts

Shifts are:

7:45pm 8:15am (12.5 hour shifts including breaks) 11.5 hours paid due to 15-minute handover meetings
