Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available within our Reception team at Bunbury Medical Practice, we are looking for a receptionist to join our team! This is a part time vacancy for 26 hours a week.

The Practice is situated in the heart of Bunbury, a small idyllic village, were we offer care to almost 5,500 patients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who thrives in working as part of a team, the department is fast paced but very friendly, and although we are a busy Practice we like to ensure our staff enjoy their time at work.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing care navigation to patients. Duties will include face to face interaction, telephone enquiries and various administration tasks. You will undertake all aspects of the receptionist role and work effectively within a team dynamic.

About us

The Practice is run out of a purpose built building in the heart of Bunbury Village and consists of 2 GP Partners, 4 salaried GP's, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Practice Nursing team, Dispensary and Reception team.

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system

Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments

Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately

Signpost patients to the correct service

Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies

Clinically code data on the clinical system

Photocopy documentation as required

Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required

Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary

Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms appropriately

Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner

Carry out system searches as requested

Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards

Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
