This is an exciting opportunity for a conscientious, enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our Reception team to support our outpatient department made up of the Colney Centre, Mulbarton Ward and Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy treatment areas, including the Weybourne Day Unit.
As post holder, you will be responsible for providing an efficient administrative service for patients whilst working alongside our medical and non-medical teams across the Directorate.
The successful candidate will have good communication skills and must be able to work well both in a team, and independently. The successful candidate will also be expected to support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service and are expected to consistently demonstrate the NNUH’s PRIDE values and professionalism.
Within our department we treat patients with Cancer and/or Blood Diseases so the successful candidate will need to be welcoming, kind and patient for those visiting the Colney Centre. As post holder, you will provide a high-quality service and support the needs within our busy Weybourne Day Unit and Reception team in Oncology and Haematology.
The Colney Centre is open from 07:30 to 20:00 Monday to Friday and the Weybourne Day Unit runs from 08:00 – 18:00 Monday – Friday and 08:00-16:00 on Saturdays. The post holder would be required to work occasional weekends/Bank Holidays. You will need to be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
You will communicate with patients and their relatives, the general public and a wide range of multi-professional staff both internal and external to the Trust. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Being the first point of contact for people visiting the department or calling in with queries. • Booking and managing outpatient appointments. • Admitting and discharging day case patients for chemotherapy. • Arranging transport for patients. • Managing waiting lists in line with the Referral to Treatment process as well as other admin related tasks.
