Main duties of the job

NHS or GP Practice experience is advantageous, and familiarity with EMIS is preferable. Excellent communication skills and basic PC proficiency are essential. Candidates should be able to work within established processes while ensuring confidentiality and data security are maintained. Previous NHS experience is welcomed but not essential.

  • To work with other receptionists and healthcare professionals to provide a first class service to our patients. Provide the first point of contact for patients and other stakeholders/visitors (either face to face or on the telephone) and provide administrative support
  • In accordance with the service specification and clinical key performance indicators
  • In line with national, local and organisational priorities in order to affect good access for patients and to maximize activity and opportunity
  • Supporting the Practice Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the practice where required, help develop efficient systems of management and to delegate tasks appropriately. To promote the development and maintenance of a qualify learning environments throughout the practice. To deputise for the practice manager and will be a member of the surgery team with the delegated responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the surgery. You will ensure the effective processing of all administrative work and appropriate liaison with the reception and administration team.

Qualifications

Essential
