An exciting opportunity has arisen to join team of Band 2 Clerical Officers at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Working with a busy team of administrative and clinical staff within the Emergency Department this is a very rewarding role.
You will be required to provide a variety of clerical tasks including booking in patients, admitting patients to wards using our computerised Patient Administration System, maintaining patient records, filing, arranging for clinic appointments, answering telephone enquiries, data entry onto the hospital computer systems. You may also be required to assist the ED administration team with basic office duties.

You will be supporting the booking in process of patients arriving to our department for the following variety of shifts:
Ambulance Booking in Reception:
07:30-18:00 hrs
18:00-02:30 hrs
Main Reception:
07:30-18:00 hrs
09:00-20:00 hrs
18:00-midnight hrs
Night shift 20:00-08:00 hrs
Please be aware this role requires shifts covering a 24 hour period. The shifts outlined above are the current shift patterns available however, please be aware that these shifts may change in the future depending on the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job
To ensure the smooth application and control of all administrative, clerical and computer processes associated with the Emergency Department. Ensuring the provision of effective communication to both patients and staff to enhance patient care.
Assisting in the administration for the reception area in the Emergency Department this post requires keyboard skills, customer service experience and the ability to multitask whilst working within a busy fast pace environment.
