We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care Team at HMP Garth
HMP Garth is a High Security has male prison with around 792 males and is a category B Prison located in Lancashire.
The Primary Care Team is based within the healthcare department but there is also wing work required.
HMP Garth offers:
- Training development opportunities

- Access to gym
Hours:
- Monday - Sunday service - Days and Nights
- 37.5 hours per week
- 8 weeks rolling rota
- Week 1,3,5 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday 7..30am - 7.45pm - Days
- Week 2,4,6: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 7.30am - 7.45pm - Days
- Week 7: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday - 7.30pm - 7.45am - Nights
- Week 8: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 7.30pm - 7.45am - Nights
Salary
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week. You will receive an annual salary of between £34,428 - £41,659 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Primary Care Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
- Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
- Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
- Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
- Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
- Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications required:
- Registered nurse Adult- NMC
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working

- Excellent communication skills
