An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) based within primary care settings across Fife

Full and part time hours are available.

The Primary Care Mental Health Nurses work alongside primary care colleagues by offering support to GP’s as a point of contact for patients presenting with mental health issues. As a Primary Care Mental Health Nurse (PCMHN) you will be triaging, assessing and supporting patients ensuring safe, effective and person centred care. Calling on your specialist clinical knowledge and clinical decision making skills you will be expected to deliver a range of holistic mental health assessments and support and where appropriate provide therapeutic interventions and referral on to the wider mental health service as required. As a specialist role, the PCMHN is required to work in partnership with primary care services and secondary care mental health services as well as identify appropriate sign posting to alternative services.

Applications for this post are invited from experienced RMN’s, able to demonstrate enhanced skills, knowledge and experience of working with adults across the age span presenting with a range of mental health problems. As an enthusiastic mental health nurse you will join this innovative developing service designed to meet the mental health needs of the population, the PCMHNs will work within a mental health team committed to multi-disciplinary/ partnership working with strong links to secondary care and other community services. The successful applicant will have experience of team working, problem solving, flexibility, high-level communication skills, continuing personal development and change management. The post holder will have day to day responsibility for managing their workload and the assessment, care planning, evaluation of patients presenting with a variety of mental health problems in primary care settings. A commitment to partnership working with a range of stakeholders is also essential.
