We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Highpoint, a category C Prison located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk. The Primary Care team consists of a team of 15 which include Senior Primary Care Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Non-Medical Prescribers.

Highpoint is spilt into 2 sites, the North Building has around 390 males and the South Building has around 950 males. Both sites have designated Healthcare Departments which you will be based in.

Hours: 37.5

Monday-Friday

Included weekends

Monday-Friday- 7.45am-6:15pm

Weekends- 8:00am-18:00pm

*Please note transport by car is recommended due to location of the prison.

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary between £51,643 - £58,012 per annum- depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Primary Care Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.
  • Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
  • Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
  • Drive forward Clinical projects
  • Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.
  • Clinical Lead you will coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.
  • Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry our investigations locally and for the wider region.

  • Registered Nurse Adult Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of being a safeguarding Lead - Desirable but can be offered training
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Existing Clinical Leadership experience / Leading teams - Essential

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
