Are you a skilled and passionate nurse with a flair for education, leadership, and quality improvement?
We are seeking a Practice Development Nurse to support and strengthen clinical practice across Adult Community Services at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence patient care and workforce development by leading education, training and competency initiatives, while working clinically alongside staff to model best practice. You will support induction, preceptorship and ongoing professional development, promote reflective practice and psychological safety, and play a key role in developing a sustainable District Nursing workforce.
Working closely with Matrons, senior nursing leaders and education teams, you will help drive improvements in standards, governance and patient outcomes, while supporting the expansion and enhancing student placement opportunities in community settings.

Main duties of the job
The Practice Development Nurse will work closely with the Trusts PDEU, Matrons, senior nurses and education teams to improve patient outcomes and support staff development across community services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading improvements in clinical practice, standards and patient experience
- Designing and delivering education, training and competency frameworks
- Supporting expansion with PDEU of the student nurse placements in ACS. In addition work with ACS education team to support induction, preceptorship and ongoing professional development
- Promoting reflective practice, restorative supervision and psychological safety
- Providing leadership in Professional Nurse Advocacy (PNA)
- Supporting clinical audit, governance and quality improvement activity
- Contributing to the development of a sustainable District Nursing workforce
- Expanding and supporting high quality student placement opportunities
A minimum of 70% of the role will be spent in supporting clinical practice, working alongside Student Nurses and teams to model best practice and support service improvement.

Qualifications
- Professional Qualification (Healthcare)
- Post graduate qualification in relevant area of practice
- First Level Degree in Health related field or working towards
- Teaching and assessing qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Experience
- Experience at a senior level in an acute hospital care or in a specialist area.
- Recent experience at Band 6 or above
- Understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk and quality issues.
- Recent evidence of developing healthcare practice within the clinical setting
- Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentoring learners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Awareness of equality and diversity.
- Good understanding of safeguarding issues and policy framework.
