The role of the pharmacy Support Officer (QA) is a varied one, you will never be bored!
You will be working within the Quality Assurance area within Pharmacy alongside the Aseptic unit, which is a specialised clean area within Pharmacy where injectable products are manufactured. These products treat chemotherapy patients or are used in diagnostic tests.
You will be working both in the Aseptic Cleanrooms, carrying out both microbiological and physical environmental monitoring and within the QA area carrying out temperature monitoring and data entry.
Main duties of the job
Main duties include:-
- Environmental monitoring of the aseptic unit
- Disinfecting and transferring work into clean room hatches and isolators.
- Data entry of paper and electronic records
- Daily and monthly temperature monitoring
- Approval release of aseptic consumables
- Approval release of the rental laundry
- Filing of prescriptions and documentation according to local policy and procedures.
- Disposing of different types of waste, according to local policy and procedure.

- Computer skills

- Work experience in pharmacy
- Stores / Stock control awareness
- Experience in cleaning/disinfecting the working environment

Qualifications
Essential
- 4 GCSEs at grade 9-3 (A* to E) including Maths and English
- Hold or able to commit to completing a qualification relevant to the role within Aseptic Services or Pharmacy.
